Job brief
We are looking for a skilled Security Engineer to analyze software designs and implementations from a security perspective, and identify and resolve security issues. You will include the appropriate security analysis, defences and countermeasures at each phase of the software development lifecycle, to result in robust and reliable software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data privacy policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Stay updated with evolving data protection regulations, such as GDPR or CCPA, and monitor their implications for AI systems.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments to identify and address potential privacy risks and ensure compliance with data privacy requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, and AI development, to ensure privacy considerations are integrated throughout the AI lifecycle.
- Advise on data collection, storage, usage, and retention practices to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and principles.
- Provide guidance on obtaining and managing user consent for data collection and processing activities related to AI applications.
- Conduct regular audits and monitoring to identify and mitigate potential privacy breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Develop and deliver data privacy training and awareness programs for employees involved in AI development and usage.
- Serve as a point of contact for privacy-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including data subjects and regulatory authorities.
- Stay informed about emerging privacy trends, technologies, and best practices, and assess their relevance and applicability to the organization’s data privacy program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Privacy, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data privacy or data protection roles, preferably within the context of AI or emerging technologies.
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws, regulations, and frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, or other regional data privacy regulations.
- Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies and techniques for ensuring privacy by design and default.
- Understanding of AI systems, data analytics, and their impact on privacy.
- Excellent knowledge of privacy principles, data governance, and risk management practices.
- Ability to conduct privacy impact assessments and implement privacy-by-design methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address privacy risks in AI systems.
- Effective communication skills to provide guidance, training, and support to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Professional certifications in data privacy or related fields (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) would be advantageous.
