Public Engagement Manager

Job brief

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Public Engagement Manager to join our organization. As a Public Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in building and maintaining positive relationships with the public, stakeholders, and communities regarding our organization’s AI initiatives and policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to effectively engage the public and key stakeholders in discussions and activities related to AI technology.
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, advocacy groups, and relevant stakeholders to promote dialogue and collaboration on AI-related issues.
• Plan and organize public events, workshops, and conferences to raise awareness and facilitate public participation in shaping AI policies and practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including communications and marketing, to develop engaging content and materials for public outreach initiatives.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, delivering presentations, speeches, and participating in panel discussions related to AI technology and its impact.
• Monitor public sentiment and perceptions towards AI technology, identifying concerns and opportunities for engagement and education.
• Develop and maintain online platforms, such as social media channels or dedicated websites, to facilitate public communication and engagement on AI-related topics.
• Collaborate with academic institutions, research organizations, and other relevant entities to foster research, knowledge-sharing, and public discourse on AI.
• Work closely with regulatory bodies, policymakers, and government agencies to provide insights and gather public input on AI regulations and policies.
• Stay updated with current trends, debates, and public attitudes towards AI technology, ensuring that public engagement strategies remain relevant and effective.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in public engagement, stakeholder management, or community relations roles, preferably in the technology or AI industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of public engagement strategies, community outreach, and public consultation methodologies.
• Familiarity with AI technology and its social, ethical, and economic implications.
• Experience in planning and executing public events, workshops, or conferences.
• Proficiency in digital communication and social media platforms to facilitate online engagement and outreach.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex technical concepts related to AI and communicate them in a clear and accessible manner to the public.
• Strong project management and organizational skills to plan and coordinate public engagement initiatives effectively.
• Passion for engaging with the public, understanding their perspectives, and facilitating informed discussions on AI technology.
